Treena has over 25 years’ experience in the Private Equity industry, with leading Fund of Funds in
Switzerland and the UK, predominantly in the field of investor relations and business development. She has been based in Southern Africa for nearly 15 years and brings her considerable Private
Markets' expertise to the Moruo team.
She started her career in 1997 with Greenoak Capital Management - one of the earliest Private Equity Fund of
Funds in the UK. In 2000, Treena moved to Baring Asset Management to focus on marketing and distribution of Debt and Equity funds to institutional investors. In 2001 she became one of the
founding members of AltAssets and Almeida Capital, a Private Equity start-up. As Associate Director she helped create the news and research platform for the AltAssets brand. She spearheaded
relationship development with institutional investors and managed the firm’s network of active investors for the placement and fund distribution activities of the firm.
In 2006, Treena joined the Private Equity team of Unigestion, a leading Swiss alternative asset management
firm. As Head of the Client Relations team, she was responsible for fundraising and client service for their Fund of Funds and customised mandates and developed new products to meet investor
appetite.
Following a family desire for adventure, she relocated to Zimbabwe in 2010, becoming a Director of Albida Advisers in 2012. Albida provides business-consulting services to companies on the ground in Africa and those seeking to access the region. She is passionate about the growth potential of Private Equity in Africa and served as a Non-Exec Director of Mangwana Capital, a Zimbabwe head-quartered Private Equity firm from 2020 - 2024.
Treena holds a degree in Geography and Environmental Studies (1997) from Liverpool University, along with financial accreditation - Certificate of Investment Management (IMC).
